Press Release Summary: Another wind delay for Day 2 of the Movistar Kiteboarding World Cup 2007
Press Release Body: The second day of the Movistar Kiteboarding World Cup 2007 in Matanzas, Chile started off with no winds to kick off the event and set the stage for non-stop kiteboarding action. Even the temperature which was pegged at 10° Celsius but all these did not hamper the spirits of the 24 men and women participating in this premium event, who are all keen on getting the much coveted title of Chilean champion. Overcast skies dominated the skyline, and many of those watching on the beach can't help but chill to the cold weather that is typical of this region.
The mandatory skippers meeting started at approximately 12:00 pm and immediately went into a wind delay. Lunch was served at 2pm, after which a few competitors went out on the water to do some surfing while waiting for the wind (which did not came.) Among those who tested the surf were Guily Brandao (Mormai, Brazil), Mark Shinn (Nobile, UK), Jaime Herraiz (North, Spain), and Leeshai Miller (Naish, Israel). Competition was called off at exactly 16:00h. There is an excellent weather forecast for tomorrow and hopes are up to finally start the final leg of the 2007 season. Mandatory riders meeting will be at 12:00pm to be followed by the start of the men's single elimination.
